There is no shortage of self-proclaimed godmen in our country and when some of them turn out to be fake, a question mark is put up on others as well.
Recently, a self-styled godman who is popular with the name of Kissing Baba has been arrested. He hails from Assam and his original name is Ram Prakash Chauhan.
This unique baba claimed to have cured physical and psychological problems of people, especially women, with his supernatural powers and the method of the same is quite bizarre, i.e., through “chamatkari chumban” or “miraculous smooch”.
As per Kissing Baba, he has acquired the so-called supernatural power from Lord Vishnu and he has been fooling innocent and not-so-educated people on the pretext of solving their problems, particularly related to marital discord.
He has been detained from Bhoraltup village, Morigaon, Assam, on 22nd August. As per police sources, the mother of Kissing Baba is also taken into custody for spreading the rumours that his son has magical powers. Reports suggest that about three months ago, he set up a temple in Bhoraltup.
According to Baba’s claims, he can cure any woman who is facing any type of problem and his treatment was started about a month ago. It was probably a trick of exploiting superstitious women of rural areas.

OMG this is my India. Unfulfilled desire turned into profession.
There are many faith healers in Morigaon who claim that Lord Vishnu has blesses them. Morigaon has lower literacy rate as compared to other Assamese districts and here’s a black magic village known as Mayong where ojhas have been practicing black magic for a long time.
